Thanks! I'll look into it. Are beta units still available, or is the beta over?

Will this work with a '00 Audi A4 Bose Symphony sound system? The description states it works with any Audi '96 and above with STOCK sound, but the Bose is the "premium" sound system.

I don't see why not though. It looks like it just plugs into the CD changer plug. Thanks.

If you can post the back plate pic of that stereo (or drawing on a top of it), it would tell a lot. I think it should work though.

Here's a pic of the front of the unit, but I don't think it will do you much good. I'll have to do some digging or some creative thinking to get a pic of the back of the unit, since my digicam is currently out of commision. Not sure what you meant regarding the drawing either.

Sorry if this is answered elsewhere, but I can't find it in the product description. What buttons are mapable on the head unit? Just the numbered station/track shortcut buttons? how about the up/down buttons on the steering wheel?

Thanks.

If these buttons control playback you will be able to use them.
Usually UP/DOWN buttons mapped to Next/Previous track commands on a PC side. For now adapter can hear the following buttons:
- Next/prev track
- disk number
- scan
- mix
- fast ff/fast rw
- on/off

I've got one question, Does this plug into the back of the unit itself, or does it/can it plug into the CD changer cable in the trunk of my 05 GTI with the monsoon double DIN OEM HU? I'm in the middle of designing a mini-itx computer that will go in the CD changer slot and would like to use the default cable

Right now I have no cable like that, but had some plans to get one.
For now you can run USB and audio cable under the carpet or something Sad

Hmmm. is it electricly the same, just a different pinout? If so I can probably adapt it. Just trying to make the install elegant.

Yes, I have a pinout for both of them. Just don't have harness. I can send you the links for it though.

if you could email them to me that would be great.

One last thing, which adapter should I order? The one for the double DIN in the golf V? or the single DIN model? My GTI is a Mark 4 not a 5
