Hi people.
I just registered your forums.
I'm in the process of building my own carputer. I already have all the parts (epia SP13000, VoomPC2, M2 ATX, VM84 touchscreen), and software is almost ready. It just lack a media center.
I found your forums while searching for a decent media center for my carputer, which is using Gentoo.
I'm also contributing to NavIt, the Open Source vector based navigation engine. My goal is to find a media center which will integrate smoothly with Navit, to have multimedia entertainment and gps guidance.
pyCar looks interesting, i'm going to test it |

Sure. We are developping for linux. Maybe we'll add windows support someday, why not. It use X yet, yes.
In fact you can choose between two guis: the gtk one, and the sdl one.
You can have a preview here : http://www.kazer.org/navit/navit_full.mpg
I'll post a more detailed preview in the software section
I'm currently porting the SDL gui to the new api, which we call modular_map. Should be a matter of days. Afterwards, i'd like to add multimedia functionnalities to my carputer. Hence my presence here
I'd love to chat about that with you guys. Comments welcome ! |
