Hello,
I see that the ITPS detects the engine state from the ignition wire. As an alternative to using the ignition wire, is it possible to use a manually switched +12V wire in order to give the signal to the ITPS to change power state?
My amp is powered by a constant power wire and I have a switch near the dash to manually turn this wire on and off. I think it would be cool if I could use this same wire as the ignition input of the ITPS. That way when I turn on the amp it would also send the turn on to the PC. The same would be true for turn off. However, just like when turning the ignition off, the ITPS would send the shutdown signal first to allow some time for shutdown.
Although it is not quite as automatic as using the iginition wire it would give me full control as to when to turn on and turn off the PC.
Would this work?
Thanks

Yep,
You can use any kind of switch which behaves the same as ignition. Just have +12 when on and ground when off. |
