Hi there,

Is anyone working on / thinking about a plugin for Centrafuse?

I know I went on and on about the WMP plugin, but I've now discovered that WMP really isn't nice as a carpc front end because it just doesn't work well in 800x480.

Currently I can use Centrafuse with car2pc just as an aux input, but it would be nice to control it with the head unit.

Thanks!

Oh yeah, one more thing... quenchmaster wanted to know if the Car2PC uses a serial/com port when installed on a computer.

In other words, do the drivers create a virtual serial port when installed?

Thanks

I recommend to install the VCP driver which creates a COM port.
If you do then Car2PC will use regular serial port with 9600-N-1

There is someone on the centrafuse forum named "toer" that has created this plugin for Car2PC to work with Centrafuse. I am attaching the file with this post. I am not sure if someone can take a look at it cause I am not able to get it to work. I looked at the dll file and all it has is version information. Isnt there suppose to be more than that in it? Please take a look and let me what I am missing here.

Thanks

Hi there, I've just started looking into doing a plugin for Centrafuse. Is the offer of a free device still open? Wink I realise a plugin has already been done but I understand there are some issues and the developer is no longer reachable.

I'm getting an RX-8 soon but I already have a CarPC and Centrafuse XLE which I've just removed from my old car (an FTO). It would be great to control the PC with the steering wheel buttons on the RX.

I've previously done some com port programming and have experience with a variety of languages (C/C++, C#, Java, Ruby to name a few).

I understand direct comms with the port is the best approach. I have the emulator (looks rather basic though but should help with testing) and the drivers and winamp plugin as a reference (although not sure how useful this will be). Is the emulator supposed to have play and pause buttons?

I assume it's pretty straightforward though? Listen on the correct port and forward the commands to the appropriate functions in Centrafuse.

Let me know if I'm missing anything.

Cheers
