My scion currently has a Pioneer/ Scion HU and it can read MP3 ID3 text artist/title off of an ipod if i were to hook it up or it reads it currently off of any cd/mp3 cd/mp3 dvd i put in it

Does the Car2pc adapter currently make use of this input into the HU. or will it simply display 1-100 and so on.
If it does not currently support this will the hardware itself support it but the software just need be modified or would it need new hardware as well

thanks in advance jbors Smile

At the very first we won't have text supported and will implement that as a firmware upgrade.

Right now we plan to support text options for BMW and Toyota / new Honda in mid July.
It will be done in software only. No need to upgrade the hw.

Yes, Toyota text is working now. Will do more testing and will be ready to go. I think next week we'll release it.

good to know, will you have the HU library updated too?

I'm almost done with xmms plugin for car2pc adapter, and this is really last thing I want to work on. Anyway, can you let me know what are differencies in between brands of HU regarding the protocol to send something (text) to HU? All I have currently is just monsoon radio and the adapter, but monsoon will not display anything besides disc # , track #, and song time(according to my sources).

I have to send a chip. You cannot flash it yourself. Can you please send email to support@car2pc.com with your mailing address so I can do that ?

Sorry, trying to prioritize things. Text support is possible in Toyota, but with the board you have it is very problematic. We do not have reourses right now to implement that as we still have compatibility issues with navigation units which we want to solve in the first place.
Sorry that I committed earlier, we will get to it but just can't tell how fast.
