Just got the adapter today; looks really good.

Only one thing, I would prefer to install the unit in the boot (trunk) of my Touring; I know the three wires for iBus but the stock connector for the CD changer bears no resemblance to the car2pc connector for audio.

Can anyone help; diagrams or instructions? I have searched the forums but have not found an answer.

Thanks in advance.

I think we'll start offering trunk mounting cables very soon, so all customers who need it will be able to get a free one no problem. In the time being here is the picture for the trunk mounting.

And the pinout for the audio cable which comes with Car2PC:

Let me know if you still have problems

That'll do nicely. Much appreciated.

I'll let you know how I get on.

The ibus works a treat (although button six does not work for some reason).

However, the audio connectors in the boot are even more confusing. There are only three wires from the audio plug, brown and white, blue and white and red and white. Even more strangely there does only seem to be three pins connected inside the (female) plug.

Could someone shed some light on this?

The vehicle is a 2004 BMW 330D.

Well, you have to use only R+, L+ and AGND.
The signal which comes from PC has these 3 wires, so you have to split up SG into R GNR and L GND and therefore get 4 contacts covered.
I'm pretty sure that the GND connection in audio part not needed.

Red and white is left audio, blue and white is right audio.

It looks a bit messy as the pins in the plug are quite small, but it works just fine with no sound issues. I grounded both left and right to the brown and white.

Thanks for your help.

I remain confused as to how you were able to use the CD Changer wiring harness. Did you take apart the BEPX connector and insert the pins into the iBus connector using the schematic included in this post? Were trunk install connectors ever made available? Thanks -

J

What we did before was:
1. Solder 3 wires ( GND, BATT, BUS ) to the pin block of 3 pins like shown below:
http://www.futurlec.com/Connectors/HEADS4.shtml
You should get the cable like this (pic will follow):
Make sure you match the order of wires (GND, BATT, BUS). It will go into 3 pin header.
2. As of audio connector, I will see what will work best for you...

Is a trunk installation guide provided if you choose the trunk cable? I've only see installation for the HU and I wanted to put it in my trunk and I know that the CD Changer wires/harness looks different from the HU. So I wanted to make sure a guide is provided so that I can figure out how to install the Car2PC product.

Thanks.
