I have an 07 2008 RX-8 with firmware version 9.82. I installed the Car2PC by plugging it into my CD Changer however I cannot get the head unit to select EX1.

Anyone? I've tried emailing Car2PC support but no response yet. (over 24 hours) Is there another way to contact them?

I did receive a reply but it was only to tell me my message had been received. I don't want to be critical or rude but this is on day 3 now and I haven't been given anything at all to try to resolve my issue Sad

I was unable to receive support on the unit because the warranty period had expired.

I purchased a new unit and installed it today however I am encountering the exact same problem.

I have no idea how to proceed but any assistance would be greatly appreiated as my car has been torn apart for 2 weeks already while awaiting the new adapter.

I am becoming fairly frustrated with the lack of support. Does anyone have any suggestions for me or a number the Car2PC guys can be reached at?

PatintheHat,

I also received my car2pc for my Mazda6 2007 and I am experiencing the same issue as you. I connect it and my HU does not detect it as a cd changer.

I currently have an AUX, USB adapter for my Mazda that works the same way, with the cd changer port(works great), and my plan was to swap it with the car2pc and gain steering control. However, as mentioned it does not work.

I e-mailed support in case they had a firmware upgrade/downgrade and the response after 2 days is:

"Try disconnecting your current aux device" that is all they replied with! which I had to do of course, since it uses that same cd changer port, which I explained to support also in my request for support.

Now I have waited 2 days and I have not gotten a response yet.

I am going to RMA the unit in hopes that it is just a bad unit. I really hope the next one works, if I ever get a reply.

Please update me on your issue and I will update you on mine. Maybe we can help each other out with our findings.

Thanks,
Christian

cblock102598: I am somewhat relieved to hear someone else is having the same issue. What version of firmware is your head unit running?

The Car2PC support has been an absolute joke so far. I have been in contact with a Dmitry who seems to have problems with basic english let alone any understanding of the product he is supposed to be supporting.

I am incredibly frustrated and have no idea how to proceed. Car2PC seems unwilling to provide me assistance in any form.

Please keep me posted on your progress.

it's been more than a year waiting to get my adapter working.
Got several upgrade chips, one that works - so so - BUT for an ipod,
but my adapter is not an ipod one.
Support replies rarely, got several of the chips even without the notice
or we already mailed the new upgrade, when asked.
Last mail i got from them is dated april 2008.

P.S.
I still can not understand why the ipod chip is detected, but
there is no correct chip for the usb adapter .

Well it looks like tech support is refusing to try anything further. I would caution anyone who is planning to install a PC into their Mazda to test this product or find an alternative as it seems to mysteriously not work for certain Mazda radios.

Yes you're right.
There are some stereo firmware versions that do not work properly.
It is almost impossible to get stereo with a particular firmware to test, so we can only guess what is wrong Sad
Sorry that we cannot help here.
