Before I looked at this link but probably my radio has different protocol.
It is radio in my cherokee 1999 and the pinouot on the rear is different. The same signals, but different pins no. are connected.
My radio can be connected to CHM-S630 or CHA-S634 Alpine Cd - changer.
I used digital osciloscope to check how communication looks.
Every 1 second radio sends frame like attachment,
When I push CD button nothing change with frame - just NO CD on LCD panel.
I would like to open analog path to transmit analog signal to amplifier, but before I have to emulate control signal - radio get info that CD is in.
Thanks for another clue.
Pawel

I made M-bus protocol emulator and it works with my radio P04704345-G.
I checked with some other chrysler radio which has the same DIN8 socket and it didnot cooperate.
I found some interfeces for CD-changers and Chrysler Radio from around 1999 and there have to be some difference:
Do you know what is the difference - socket pinout?

Well MBUS protocol is quite demanding so if it works on one stereo does not mean it will in others

hey guys. sorry to bring this topic up. recently i bought a crysler radio (P05064171AF) from an 2006 300c, but i didnt know anything about the Mbus system. i would like to install this radio in a non-mbus system car. i did a search online and the best website/thread was this one. i have a few questions, did this 1999 jeep had M-bus system? or the radio instaled was M-bus and the jeep was non-Mbus?
Thanks,
Marcio

300C has non MBus radio. 99 wrangler had MBus with round plug.
You still can connect your radio but some functions may not be available...

sorry for the late reply. for a while i had problems logging in. when i connect the radio to the power, if i press the button "Time", i see the clock and then it dims. the other button that works is the "eject". the clock shows again and i can hear the CD player moving the layser. first time i connected the radio, it was working, but on the next day if only let me use those 2 buttons. do you guys know if this radio uses any protocol? thanks for the reply Jbors
