There V50 already? I just finished with 48 hoping that would finally solve my problems of it randomly starting up and not playing USB until I switch inputs a few times to make it re-announce USB but it's the same issues.

Please post a link to V50. Thanks.

So... I tried updating to the v50 file. After the update, CD2 would no longer show up no matter how many times I tried to restart and the USB was not active.

I had to dig into the car yet another time to disconnect GROM from the harness. After reconnecting it, the track displayed was 50 and it was working again... I thought disconnecting it reset the firmware back to whatever it shipped with - am I wrong about that or is it updated? If so, why did it disappear after the update until I disconnected it from the harness... I want to understand what causes this crap. Either way, when the final version of the next firmware is released please number it 51 so I can be sure that it went through and hopefully let's not make the updates brick the thing again.

Anyway, I'm disappointed that the thing forced me to have to open the car up for the 36th time to make it work again. I swear, I have not had this much trouble with a piece of electronics in my entire life.

so.. Got the v50 firmware and installed that.

One step forward and one step back.

The good news is that it is recognized at all times, switching to FM and back works, and changing modes.

The bad news is that answering/making calls no longer work. Answering worked in v48, and ending calls made from the phone works using the prev track button, but answering calls using next track or using SCAN to call last called doesn't work.

I won't finalize the installation in my car until I know everything works 100%, but please let me know if I can help GROM iron out these last problems.

Small update: I have installed GromUSB 2 days ago.

The good news is that there is no hung up problem. I am able to switch FM/CD/GROM whenever I want.

The bad news is that I have found three more bugs:

1. Pressing next track button more when 5-6 times in ~10 seconds cause some kind of endless loop:
Music stops and track number and disk number on lcd display starting to run in some kind of loop. Pressing Next track/disk doesn't helps. This strange effect stopped by itself after about 2 minutes. Music didn't not start playing, but after pressing next track button everything returned to the normal.

2. Sound distortion after end of the phone call:
Grom USB is playing music, I start a phone call using Bluetooth module. At the end of the call the other side disconnects and I don't touch the phone. Grom USB resumes the playback but the sound is not clear, some strange metal sounds mixed with music. After pressing next track button everything returned to the normal.

3. Scan mode can't be disabled:
Once I press scan button pressing scan button again do not switch this mode off.

Who else encountered such problems ?
Please share your experience...

any updates on the latest bugs?

The lack of ways to disable Scan without reflashing firmware makes this a bit frustrating....

I also can't see any evidence that the module reads the config I put in root of the usb. Tried to solve the problem with Scan by putting s= 1 in a config, but no commands or values I put in there seems to make any difference

Hello guys,
I have Toyota Avensis 2001 and I have the grom device from about 2 years. I had the same problems as you have described with blocking the device all the time(mostly when changing from FM to CD and back). Honestly I can say that gromusb2_toy_49.hex is the best version of the software I have putted since 2 years.
Yes i can also confirm the bugs armourer reports..., but I'm happy that now i don't have the awful blocking issue which was causing stopping of the engine and removing the device.

The latest firmware V50 is in extensive testing. There are few things fixed:
SET_FLAG bug fixed (recognition and stability)
SCAN fixed on some Toyotas
SCAN x 2 forces redial on BT
ACC_ON delayed for better recognition

So far so good in terms of startup recognition. At least in the 3 times I started the car yesterday. But, I've said that before... hopefully this is it!

--- Edit: It got stuck again, no recognition on startup. Guess it's not perfect... still.

Unit got stuck when changing to a different folder now - just sat there not playing... when changed away from CD2 to FM, it would not go back to CD2 again.
