I've been trying to get pycar installed onto a Debian Linux platform. Most of the material I've found about getting this working seems woefully out of date (posts from 2005 mainly). I've worked through posts I've seen, hit problems that are also documented here and tried some of their fixes, but I quickly came to the conclusion that maybe I'm attempting solutions on too old of a code base (e.g. I don't see anything called "muxer"). I'm using the packaged code that is inside the .iso release.
So the main question I guess is what's the correct install-onto-a-Linux-platform procedure nowadays?
It seems like pulling the code from CVS and building everything might be the right answer, then asking configuration questions. I'm comfortable with that (gives me an incentive to learn Python) but is the current head-of-line CVS code stable? Is that the best way to go in 12/2007?
Thanks,
