|
|
Hi,
I've been looking out for a MP3-only with touchscreen linux-based distro/application for a while, and just came across pycar.
Looks very nice, and it is the kind of size I'm looking for (ie v small).
At the moment the latest ISO (run from CD or from HD) jumps straight to a black screen. continues to load for a few secs, and then dies with all the keyboard lights flashing.
I assume this is because it's aimed at an EpiaM, which has differnt features to my EpiaV - noteable different gfx..
Any tips on getting this booting? I notice you specify viafb in the syslinux setup - could this be a culprit?
Thanks for any tips. |

Which one did you try ? Car2Linux or Pycar-1.3 ?
PyCar-1.3 is only loadable on EPIA-M/MII boards.
V has another chipset I think which may be why it hangs. |

Hi,
I was trying Pycar-1.3. Did not see Car2linux...?
Yes - EpiaM has:
• VIA CLE266 North Bridge
• VT8235M South Bridge
Epia and the Epia-V have:
• VIA PLE133 North Bridge
• VIA VT8231 South Bridge
The gfx chip being in the North bridge. PLE133 basically has an integrated Trident Cyberblade.
I was hoping there was - or someway I could hack in - basic vga/vesafb support to PyCar. I have no interest in using this for video, so losing gfx/mpeg acceleration is not a loss.
Is the support built into the pycar kernel?
Thanks for any help. |
